Belgium - Running for visually impaired people

Creating awareness about sight loss... while running!

Every year in Belgium, the competition “20 kilometers through Brussels” brings together at least 40.000 runners. Among them 717 people wore the colours of the Brailleliga/Ligue Braille. This number proved to be an absolute record for the association! The team included several blind and partially sighted runners, who, by participating, proved that everything is possible. Of all 466 teams the Brailleliga/Ligue Braille team finished fifth, and of all participating charity associations the team won first place! With the support of all its generous runners and sponsors the association collected nearly 22.000 EUR, which will be used for its activities for visually impaired children.

The Brailleliga/Ligue Braille wants to thank everyone who completed this great challenge and already looks forward to next year's edition!
