Slovenian painters

Within the Slovenian national blind and partially sighted organisation there are some 15 active painters. Most of them have very low residual sight and some of them are blind. But all of them are gifted for painting and enthusiastic. In the past five years they prepared many exhibitions all over Slovenia and also abroad. Some of them have been also awarded for their masterpieces.

With pleasure I would like to inform you that we recently had two exhibition openings. At the end of August in the gallery of the Municipality Tržič the group of painters from the regional association of blind and partially sighted Kranj prepared the exhibition of their paintings. Throughout September in the gallery of Družina (meaning family) in the centre of Ljubljana, there was an exhibition by our painter Rezka Arnuš from Dolenjske toplice. 25 paintings from her numerous works were chosen for the exhibition, most of them dedicated to her home village, childhood, family and children. Mrs. Anamarija Stibilj Šajn, curator of the exhibition, pointed out the talent and subtlety of the author who is almost blind. The colourful paintings came alive in the white gallery. The exhibition was opened by Mr. Tomaž Wraber, the president of the Slovenian blind and partially sighted union.

Congratulations to all our painters, we are proud of you!
