Ahead of the celebration of the International White Cane Day on October 15, the Airports of Montenegro presented the infrastructure accessible for independent movement and functioning of blind and partially sighted persons.
The results of the project "Innovative transport services for blind and partially sighted persons - DANOVA", which is funded by the European Union, were presented at Podgorica Airport.
The following equipment is installed:
- Tactile guide path and orientation plan in Braille at Podgorica Airport;
- Local microphones at information desks, passenger and baggage registration counters and passport control counters at Podgorica Airport and Tivat Airport that facilitate communication with staff;
- Video wall in the terminal building of Podgorica Airport for better accessibility and review of all important information such as flight schedule;
- Contrast tapes in toilets for PWDs at Podgorica Airport and Tivat Airport;
- Signs in Braille at information counters, passenger and baggage registration counters and passport control counters, on the doors of toilets - at Podgorica Airport and Tivat Airport;
- Signs in the form of numbers at exits of larger sizes at Podgorica Airport;
