Since 1992, the Tandem Club Rhodanien (Lyon, France) has been promoting the development of tandem cycling for the visually impaired, as a hobby or for competition.
Together with their partners (French Federation of the Blind) , the Tandem Club Rhodanien has decided to get involved in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games (JOP).
How?
Through para tandem, by organising, on the eve of the Paralympic Games, an international sporting event based on sportsmanship, commitment and openness to the world, which will enable able-bodied and disabled people to progress together and take up an unprecedented challenge:
The "Lyon 2 (two-to) Paris Tandem Challenge".
In a nutshell:
Starting from Lyon, France, on 24 August 2024, and arriving in Paris on 27 August 2024, this four-day sporting trek will be punctuated, at each stopover town, by the following activities:
Raising awareness of visual impairment and the role of carers Free, fun introductions to a wide range of sporting activities (parasport, etc.) Cultural, educational and musical events to celebrate this historic event of the JOP
Paris 2024 is a historic event not to be missed! These Games are a unique opportunity to come together around values, projects, and to create a sporting and human legacy.
They also provide an amazing opportunity to look at disability from a different angle.
PARIS 2024 will be the sum of individual and collective adventures like ours, that will form part of the global history of the Olympic Games.
The success of the Olympic Games is up to all of us!
Open to participants from throughout Europe!
