Croatian Blind Union is inviting everyone who is interested in active vacation or relaxation at the seaside in Istria, near Pula, to visit us at “ERKS Premantura” (Educational and Rehabilitation Camp for visually impaired people).
We want to present you our inclusive resort, The ERKS Premantura Hostel, a unique place which offers an inclusive environment where everything is adapted to be accessible for people with visual impairments. Operated by Tiflotehna d.o.o. under the Croatian Blind Union, this three-star facility is thoughtfully designed to cater to blind and partially sighted individuals, as well as their families and companions. The hostel boasts 26 air-conditioned rooms, each equipped with a private bathroom and terrace. Inside, tactile surfaces, Braille signage, and enlarged black print ensure easy navigation for visually impaired guests. For those with mobility challenges, the ground floor features fully adapted facilities, including a specially designed room with an accessible bathroom.
A 10-minute walk from the hostel lies the “Munte Beach”, fully adapted for blind and wheelchair users, the beach features tactile pathways leading to the sea and a flat, buoy-marked swimming area, paved surface for safe movement.
The on-site restaurant serves delicious meals, while the coffee bar offers a tranquil setting overlooking a lush park. The staff is trained in communication techniques for serving visually impaired individuals, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
The hostel’s conference hall is perfect for workshops or presentations, making it an ideal destination for group retreats or educational events.
