Welcome to the 2025 Finnish Blind Hockey Camp!

The Finnish sports club Aisti Sport will organize its sixth annual blind hockey camp for visually impaired people of all ages regardless of hockey or skating experience. The camp will be held at the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja from Friday, October 31 and end on Sunday, November 2.

Blind hockey was invented in Canada in the 1970s, and in the 2010s saw more coordination and organization between clubs across Canada. In 2014, the first clubs were established in the United States. Aisti Sport started the Finnish blind hockey program in 2020.

This camp offers an excellent opportunity to try blind hockey and skating and to develop existing skills. Participants will be divided into groups based on their experience. We want to ensure that everyone receives appropriate training based on their skill level.

The estimated cost for the camp is EUR 220-250. The participation fee includes meals, accommodation, ice time, coaching fees, the Saturday sauna evening and any equipment a player needs to borrow.

If you are travelling to the camp from outside of Finland, please inform us, so we can make sure you have a ride to and from Kisakallio.

Ice time is more fun and safer if participants have the proper equipment. If you need to borrow any equipment, Aisti Sport has some equipment to lend to camp participants. We have limited numbers of helmets and skates, so having your own is preferred.

A helmet with a face mask or a cage is MANDATORY, as is a neck protector. You will not be permitted to go on the ice without them! We highly recommend you wear full equipment during practices, including shin pads, hockey pants, genital protector, shoulder pads, elbow pads and gloves. Remember, if you need to borrow something, please let us know!

Camp participants are not insured by the organizers, so please make sure you have the appropriate insurance for the duration of your stay.

While we have qualified coaches and assistants on the ice, parents and personal assistants are welcome on the ice. Coaches will offer general assistance during the camp, but if a participant feels they require a personal assistant, the assistant must pay the full room and board price at Kisakallio, EUR 180.

Official registration for the camp will open in September. You'll find the form on Aisti Sport's website https://aistisport.com. Please note that if you are interested in coming, contact us so we can confirm your spot and you can make your travel arrangements early enough.

If you have any questions about the camp or blind hockey in general please do not hesitate to contact us.
